XBL & Router question

| Who here uses a router to play on XBL and what is a good router to get what about the D-link dgl 4300.
What configs are needed between router and PC to get it to work the best to have the smoothest gameplay. Because just because you can play on XBL doesn't mean its playing the way it should.
